Is a massage always appropriate?

No, there are several medical conditions that would make massage inappropriate. That’s why it is necessary that you fill out the health history form before you begin your session. And YES, I know my intake form is very lengthy, but the body is one of the most complex system in the known universe. Having a detailed health history is important for me to provide the best treatment session possible to rul out if you have any contridications to massage. It is very important that you inform me or any practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking.

If you are under a doctor’s care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage prior to any session. Depending on your history I may require a formal letter or a consult prior to our session to make sure massage therapy is advisable and appropriate for your health. Though I am not a doctor, I believe in the Hippocratic Oath of "do no harm" and is why I am commited to making sure your treatment is tailored to your health needs.
